SOUTH AFRICA OVERVIEW

The fact that there are 11 official languages of South Africa demonstrates the incredible cultural diversity that exists in the county covering the southern tip of Africa. The country is also bio-diverse and is home to more than 20,000 types of plants, or 10-percent of all known species on the planet. Diversity has long been at the forefront in South African culture, and though it has led to a well-documented contentious political history, the country is developing on several fronts, including the South Africa luxury home market.

Bordered by ocean on three sides and boasting a temperate climate, South Africa provides several options for tourists and luxury home seekers. Cruise ships dock at the famous Port of Cape Town in the south, while amazing safari adventures can be had in the northeastern part of the county in Kruger National Park. More culture can be found in Johannesburg (aka Joburg), the country's largest city. On the coast nearly 600 kilometers from Cape Town is Knysna. The town is famous for "The Heads" - where two sandstone cliffs rise above either side of the Knysna River as it feeds into the ocean.
